SSTD 2026

We are pleased to announce that the VIII Annual Conference of the International Spring Symposium on Tourism Development (VIII SSTD 2026) will be held on the island of Lanzarote (Spain), during 18th and 19th June 2026. This SSTD 2026 is an international conference organized by Tides, the Institute of Tourism and Sustainable Economic Development, which belongs to the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Our university ranks 35th in the world in the 2024 Shanghai Global Ranking in the academic field of Hospitality and Tourism Management. In addition, we are the leading university in Tourism Economics research in Spain and among the top three in the European Union.

The VIII SSTD 2026 Conference will take place at the Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort, where participants will be able to enjoy authentic Spanish hospitality. Some of our distinguished keynote speakers include Robert Steiger (University of Innsbruck, Austria), Hai Nguyen (University of Greenwich, United Kingdom), and Jacques Bulchand (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain). We will also feature an industry panel bringing together key stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality sector, both from the public and private sector.
